I'm giving Dreamwidth a try. I'm waiting for my journal content to get copied over and I'll start really searching for friends on dreamwidth next week. Already found a few. Post your usernames for me to make it easier. If it works out, I'll be maintaining both for a while as I figure out Dreamwidth and make the transition.
You LJers probably already know this, but you don't need a Dreamwidth account to comment. :)

Oct. 28th, 2011 04:38 pmWell, it sounded like a good idea. But after reading about the lines being 2-3 hours, sometimes longer, on the last Friday/Saturday before Halloween, and knowing that it would be outdoors in the cold that whole time, AND looking at this rain...
I'm going to wuss out.
You guys are totally welcome to hang out at our place, though. I have Halloween-ish things we can watch. You're welcome to bring movies and snacks and booze. We'll have some of all three, including baked goodies and a homemade liqueur.

Oct. 16th, 2010 09:47 amI'm leaving Facebook in steps. I posted a few days ago about it so people there would have a heads up. I've removed everything I could that I've been tagged in. I've removed as much information as I can. All apps, groups, likes, etc. Today I removed all my friends. I'll deactivate the account tomorrow.
Facebook just takes too much time to manage and the content to noise ratio is pretty bad. I know it's the only way I had to keep in contact with a few people, but it's just not worth the amount of time and all the privacy risks. Meaningful communication is hard enough online without 420-character limits.
